Dan Stalker: Almost every town has/had a Trocadero Dance Hall, Music Hall, Cinema, Restaurant etc. What is the origin of the word Trocadero?
f. ojeda: Trocadero was the name of a fortress in Cadis Bay (Spain). A battle took place there and Spanish Navy was defeated by the French one. A square in Paris was named "Trocadero" in order to celebrate that victory.
