What is the Origin of Trigonometry???
Unlike most people who post I don't know the answer. I have to find out what it is for a math project. So if anyone out there reads this please e-mail me or just make a new post with the answer.

"-metry" for "measure," like a meter. "Trigonometry" ("tri-"," for three) is a field related to the measure of triangles. I couldn't verify that "trigonon" is Greek for triangle (does "gonon" mean angle? I don't know.) but "-metry" is definitely Latin. Miriam-Webster's verifies that it is from the New Latin, trigonometria, circa 1614.
