It was positively teaming outside.
What is the etymology of the verb, "teaming" as a synonym of "pouring?"
It's a homonym. The synonym for "pour" is teem (with two E's). "Teem" also means something like "(to) empty" or "overflow" but used to mean "(to become) pregnant" and in that sense intersects with the etymology of "team" in Old English.
