Stools

Does anyone know why this word is used for faeces?
AdSumADS
It's from the Old Church Slavonic, stolu, which meant "throne." It came to English via German in the form of the homonym, "stool," which refers to a commode, a chair or seat regardless of its use, and to excreta (as would be deposited into such a toilet through defecation).
