pinochle and euchre
What are the origins of the names of the two popular card games, Pinochle and Euchre?
Webster's has this on pinochle, but nothing etymologically on euchre.

Euchre (pronounced YOU-kur) was probably derived from the game Jucker which was played in the Alsace. Euchre reached the USA in the 19th century and was the original game for which the Joker was introduced into the playing-card pack in the 1850s (to serve as the highest trump).
